What’s new in Creo View MCAD
Annotation Set Ribbon for Quick Access to Features
Description:A new in-context Annotation Set ribbon now appears when viewing the Annotation Sets panel. This tool enhances access to the following functionalities:
– Creating, renaming, and deleting folders.
– Enabling or disabling the preview window.
– Expanding or collapsing the annotation tree.
– To center the selected annotation set within the annotation tree. In addition, the following functionalities were updated in the annotation set pane:
– Switching between the tree mode and the list mode.
– Including folders when filtering.
Benefits:This enhancement provides a quicker access to the features and functionalities associated with the annotation sets, which makes working with annotation sets easier.
Fit Height and Fit Width in the Native PDF Viewer
Description:The native PDF viewer supports maintaining the fit height and fit width modes. Resizing a Creo View window and opening or closing panels that affect the view window size will now also resize the document to keep the mode.
The navigation mode is maintained until activating an alternate page view mode.
Benefits:The user no longer needs to reactivate or reset the document fit when resizing Creo View or closing panels.
Support for Displaying Table Annotations from CAD Systems
Description:The table annotations that were created in the CAD systems can now be displayed in the 3D view.
Benefits:This provides users with viewing and interaction capabilities, such as highlighting the selected row and column along with their associated objects, and making table annotations visible in a combined state.
Navigating a 3D Model with a Section Cut Dragger
Description:The section cut dragger now repositions to the center of the screen when zooming in and out of the parts, allowing the user to adjust the section cut plane.
Benefits:The user no longer needs to zoom out of the view to adjust the section cut plane.
What’s new in Creo ECAD
Creo View ECAD support EDMD IDX 4.0
Description:Creo View ECAD now supports visualization of IDX 4.0. In addition, Creo View ECAD Compare allows exporting IDX 4.0 that can be used in Creo View ECAD Validate for collaboration and validation. With this improvement, Creo View ECAD now supports new IDX 4.0 features like the IDX geometry type.

What’s new in Creo MCAD Adapters
Introducing the Creo View Adapter for Creo+
Description:The new Creo View adapter now supports publishing Creo+ content. A standalone installation of the Creo View adapter for Creo+ can now publish Creo+ data using batch or worker mode.
Benefits:Creo+ users can now seamlessly publish parts, assemblies, and drawings, and generate representations.
Support for Table Annotations for Creo Parametric
Description:Creo Parametric users can now convert both planar and screen annotations along with associated attributes, table boundaries and its styling, including color, line style, line thickness, and others.
Creo View now supports different viewing and interaction capabilities. Table annotations support semantic references and multiple formatting options enabling WYSIWYG.
Benefits:This provides viewing and interaction capabilities to the users, like highlighting of selected row and column and their associated objects and table annotation visibility in combined state.
Windchill-Managed CAD Configurations for Creo Parametric
Description:The Creo View adapter for Creo Parametric now supports using Windchill managed CAD configuration files, like config.pro, config.sup and different library items, for example, fonts, drawing templates, textures, and others. These configurations can be packaged in a zip file, and uploaded to the visualization configuration in Windchill. Windchill distributes these configurations to the worker for each job, which removes the need for the administrator to configure each worker. For more information, see the topic Support Server-Driven Configuration for Fonts and Drawing in the Windchill Help Center.
Benefits:Windchill-managed CAD configuration ensures that all the workers use the same configuration, preventing discrepancies.
PVSOptimize Improvements Shrinkwrap Generation
Description:PVSOptimize improved the performance and quality of shrinkwrap generation through evenly distributed view points. Shrinkwrap generation is now available on RHEL.
Benefits:With improved performance and quality for shrinkwrap generation, users can now generate high quality, compressed, and lightweight 3D geometry files and viewables. This enhancement improves quickview generation and viewable compression utility.
PVSOptimize Improvement for Geometry Reduction
Description:PVSOptimize introduces an improved capability for geometry reduction, allowing for a targeted reduction of the mesh. This generates an approximate mesh that maintains the original shape while achieving a reduced model size.
To enable this capability for Windchill multi-fidelity, add the recipe option adapter/removeSmallTriangle=1 and specify the reduction target with adapter/decimationTarget. For example, setting it to 40 will reduce the mesh by 40%. This functionality also helps generate a reduced size QuickView. The PVSOptimize Medium and Low recipes, which are part of Creo View , Creo Illustrate and the Creo View Adapter, use the new mesh reduction by default: with 40% reduction for Medium recipe file and 70% for Low recipe file.
Benefits:This provides better configuration for Windchill multi-fidelity and Creo Illustrate published content, generating a better approximate mesh with reduced content size, which allows for efficient loading of representations and published content.
Adapter for SOLIDWORKS-Improved Support for Exporting a PDF as an Additional Output
Description:The Creo View adapter for SOLIDWORKS now supports additional options when exporting a PDF as additional output. The following options are introduced for PDF as an additional file:
– Shaded/Draft geometry DPI
– Sharpened OLE DPI
– High quality shaded edges
– Include layers set to not print
– Include bookmarks
Benefits:SOLIDWORKS users can use the additional output options for PDF when a PDF is exported as an additional file. These options enable extended capabilities for exporting high-quality PDFs, including the bookmarks. Users can also define the DPI to be used for the shaded/draft geometry and the sharpened OLE.
DWG/DXF Multi-sheet to Single File Support for Creo and SOLIDWORKS
Description:The Creo View adapter for Creo Parametric and the Creo View adapter for Solidworks now provide options for converting a multi-sheet drawing into a single file or DWG/DXF multi-file .
Benefits:This enables Creo Parametric and SOLIDOWRKS users to export the multi-sheet DXF/DWG file into a single or individual DXF/DWG files. This will simplify the customer processes where the individual files are used for downstream processing outside the PDM systems.
